Although Shakib initially expressed his intention to play, he was eventually ruled out due to an injury that he sustained in the last match against New Zealand.
In Shakib`s stead, Nasum Ahmed has been included in the playing XI.
Furthermore, Bangladesh has opted for Hasan Mahmud over Taskin Ahmed, marking Hasan`s World Cup debut.
