Bangladesh national cricket team tightened their grip on the opening Test against Pakistan national cricket team after a strong batting display on a rain-affected fourth day in Mirpur.
At stumps, Bangladesh were 152-3 in their second innings, leading by 179 runs overall.
Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto remained unbeaten on 58, while Mushfiqur Rahim was not out on 16.
Shanto shared a crucial 105-run partnership with Mominul Haque after Bangladesh lost two early wickets.
Mominul scored 56, following his first-innings knock of 91, continuing his consistent run in Test cricket.
Bangladesh had earlier gained a first-innings lead after bowling Pakistan out for 386 in reply to their 413.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz starred with the ball, taking five wickets.
Rain interrupted play for several hours during the day, but Bangladesh still managed to build a strong position heading into the final day.
Pakistan will now need early wickets on the last day to keep their hopes alive in the match.
