The dates and venue for the 2026 SAFF Championship have been finalized, with Bangladesh set to host South Asia`s premier international football tournament. The competition will take place in the capital, Dhaka, from November 4 to 17, 2026.
Organized by the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF), the tournament is expected to feature all of the federation`s member nations. Over the years, the SAFF Championship has established itself as one of the most anticipated football events for fans across South Asia.
As part of the build-up to the tournament, the official logo launch ceremony will be held in Dhaka on July 25, while the official draw is scheduled to take place in Thimphu, Bhutan, on August 1.
"We are absolutely delighted to announce the dates and venue for the SAFF Championship 2026," said SAFF General Secretary Purushottam Kattel. "This tournament holds a special place in our hearts, having created countless memorable moments for football fans across South Asia over the years."
He added, "The announcement comes shortly after the conclusion of the FIFA World Cup 2026, making it an especially exciting time for football fans in South Asia. With football enjoying rapidly growing popularity in Bangladesh, we are delighted to confirm the country as the host. We are confident Bangladesh will deliver a successful tournament that leaves a lasting impression on both players and supporters."
Kattel also said, "Over the coming weeks and months, we will be unveiling a range of activities, updates, and events related to the championship. As the countdown to this memorable tournament begins, we sincerely hope our fans will share in our excitement."
The 2026 edition will be the 15th SAFF Championship. It also marks the tournament`s return to Bangladesh for the first time since 2018, a development that is expected to further boost excitement among football fans across the country.
