Bangladesh beat India by a solitary goal in their third SAFF Under-19 Women’s Football Championship match at the Bir Shrestha Shaheed Sepahi Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur on Friday.
Defender Shamsunnahar (senior) scored the all-important goal in the seventh minute from the penalty spot.
With the win, Bangladesh are leading the five-team table with seven points from three games, followed by India with six points also from three outings.
Bangladesh started their campaign with a goalless draw against Nepal before a thumping Bhutan 6-0 in their second match.
India beat Sri Lanka 5-0 and Bhutan 3-0 in their previous two games.
