Bashundhara Kings have reclaimed the Bangladesh Premier League title after a year. The side secured the championship with a game to spare after defeating Abahani Limited 2-0 in the title-deciding match held in Cumilla on Friday.

In the match at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium, Brazilian striker Dorielton Gomes opened the scoring for Bashundhara Kings. He converted a penalty in the 74th minute to put his team ahead. Just a minute later, Sohel Rana doubled the lead with a powerful left-footed strike.

The victory confirmed Bashundhara Kings at the top of the table with 38 points from 17 matches.

It is the club’s sixth professional league title. They had also won the championship in the 2023–24 season. Although Bashundhara Kings previously set a record by winning five consecutive league titles, they lost the crown to Mohammedan Sporting Club last season.
