Faruque Ahmed has stated that he will not resign from his position as President of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), Prothom Alo reports.

His remarks come amid growing speculation about leadership changes within the board.

On Wednesday night, Faruque met with the Youth and Sports Adviser, Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan.

During the meeting, it was reportedly conveyed that the government intends to bring new leadership to the BCB.

Former Bangladesh captain Aminul Islam has emerged as a potential candidate to succeed Faruque.

Currently serving at the International Cricket Council (ICC), Aminul expressed his willingness to take on any responsibility at the BCB if officially offered.
