Japan stun Brazil with historic comeback win in Tokyo

Japan scripted a remarkable comeback to defeat Brazil 3–2 in an international friendly in Tokyo on Tuesday, marking their first-ever victory over the five-time World Cup champions.

After thrashing South Korea in their previous match, Brazil looked set for another dominant performance as Carlo Ancelotti’s side raced to a 2–0 lead in the first half. However, the hosts turned the tide dramatically after the break.

Trailing 2–0 until the 51st minute, Japan produced a stunning fightback, scoring three goals within 19 minutes to seal an unforgettable 3–2 victory on home soil.

This triumph is Japan’s first in 14 meetings against Brazil. The South American giants had won 11 of the previous encounters, with the other two ending in draws.
