South African wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock is set for a surprise international comeback, having reportedly been recalled to the national ODI and T20I squads for the upcoming tour of Pakistan in October.
De Kock, 32, retired from Test cricket in 2021 and stepped away from ODIs after the 2023 World Cup but never formally announced a full international retirement.
His last appearance for South Africa was in the T20 World Cup final in Barbados in June 2024.
South Africa’s tour of Pakistan will include two Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is. De Kock’s inclusion signals a significant boost for the Proteas as they prepare for a high-profile series in challenging conditions.
