Bangladesh`s great all-rounder and ODI captain Shakib Al Hasan returned to the country Wednesday after Bangladesh`s loss to South Africa yesterday, according to a BCB source.
After returning to the country this morning, Shakib went to the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium for a practice session. It was unclear who Shakib had collaborated with throughout the session.
According to sources, Shakib will return to India on October 27 before Bangladesh`s match against the Netherlands on October 28th at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
The Bangladesh team was scheduled to leave Mumbai for Kolkata this afternoon, however Shakib was not seen with the rest of the team when they boarded the team bus.
The skipper has struggled with the bat in the present World Cup, scoring 14, 1, 40, and 1 in the four matches he has participated in. Due to a thigh ailment, he also missed the match against India. He has only averaged 14 with the bat in this World Cup, and the all-rounder may be seeking to improve his hitting during the interval between games.
