Star performers set for opening ceremony of ICC T20 World Cup 2026

The opening match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 in Mumbai on February 7 will feature a major musical programme alongside the cricket action.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) said on Friday that the tournament’s opening ceremony will include performances by rapper , Bollywood performer , sitarist , and percussionist .

Badshah said he was pleased to be part of an international event that brings together sport and music. He said both have the ability to connect people across cultures.

Rishab Rikhiram Sharma said performing at the World Cup opening ceremony is an important moment in his career. He added that it is a valuable opportunity to present Indian music on a global platform and to perform alongside Sivamani in front of a large crowd.

Sivamani said music and cricket both cross borders and described performing at the opening ceremony in Mumbai as a special honour.

India are placed in Group A with Pakistan, Namibia, the Netherlands, and the United States. The hosts will begin their campaign against the USA in the opening match in Mumbai.

India are the defending champions. If they win the title again, they will become the first team to successfully defend a T20 World Cup and the most successful side in the tournament’s history.
