In a feat that no cricketer, male or female, has ever achieved before, India‍‍`s rising star Tilak Varma has made history by scoring centuries in three consecutive T20 innings.

This sensational achievement has made him a name to remember in T20 cricket, as he continues to break records and capture the imagination of fans.

Varma‍‍`s latest heroics came in Hyderabad‍‍`s opening match of the 2024-25 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where he blasted a phenomenal 151 runs off just 67 balls against Meghalaya in Rajkot.

The 22-year-old’s knock was nothing short of spectacular, showcasing his fearlessness and aggressive style of play.

What makes this achievement even more incredible is that it follows his two back-to-back centuries in South Africa, where he scored an unbeaten 107 in Centurion and followed that up with a scintillating 120* in Johannesburg.

Varma‍‍`s 151 runs in Rajkot are not just remarkable for their number, but also for their sheer dominance. With this blistering knock, he became the first Indian male cricketer to score over 150 runs in a T20 match.

The only player to have gone beyond that mark in India’s T20 history is Kiran Navgire of Nagaland, who had smashed an unbeaten 162 runs in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy back in 2022. But now, Varma has raised the bar for men’s T20 cricket.

He was simply unstoppable.

Coming in to bat at No. 3, Varma wasted no time in taking control of the game.

His strike rate of 225.37 had fans on the edge of their seats as he hammered 14 boundaries, including an astonishing 10 sixes.

His power hitting was on full display as he launched balls into the stands with ease. It was clear from the start that Varma was on a mission to make history.

The highlight of his innings came when he dismantled Meghalaya’s medium pacer Dippu Sangma. Varma raced to 50 runs off just 18 balls, smashing six fours and three sixes.

The crowd erupted in applause as he took apart the bowling attack with such confidence and aggression, it felt like he couldn’t be stopped.

Varma’s fiery partnership with teammate Abhishek Sharma, which added a rapid 122 runs for the second wicket in just 48 balls, set the stage for Hyderabad‍‍`s highest-ever Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy total.

They posted a towering 248/4, which not only sealed a massive total for the team but also stood as the fifth-highest total in the history of the tournament.

This stunning performance further cements Varma’s reputation as one of the brightest young talents in Indian cricket.

His form has been so impressive that he has been retained by Mumbai Indians ahead of the IPL 2025 auction.

Having represented the franchise in the 2023 and 2024 seasons, Varma’s star continues to rise, and fans are eagerly waiting to see what he will do next.

With every boundary he hits, every record he breaks, Tilak Varma is proving that he’s a force to be reckoned with in T20 cricket.

The sky’s the limit for this young prodigy, and with his blistering form, he’s sure to continue making history.
