United Held at Home as City Gets The Better of Chelsea

A difficult day for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer brought injuries to two key defenders and defeat for Manchester United at home.

Bruno Fernandes' stoppage-time penalty miss marked an awful day for Manchester United as they lost all three points by a 1-0 defeat at home against Aston Villa.

A point would have sent United to the top of the Premier League table, but they could have no complaints about the outcome at Old Trafford despite a dramatic finish.

Kortney Hause seemed to be gone from hero to zero when he followed a headed goal at one end with a handball at the other. But Fernandes, who stepped up to take the spot-kick ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo, blazed over the crossbar to condemn United.

Meanwhile, in their clash against Chelsea, Gabriel Jesus scored the only goal as Manchester City beat Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge to move level on points with their Premier League title rivals.

Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United now all have 13 points from 6 matches while Liverpool has the same points with a game in hand.

City lost three times to Chelsea in  only six weeks at the end of last season which included the clash in the Champions League final, but Pep Guardiola finally got the better of Thomas Tuchel in Saturday's contest.
