In a surprising turn of events, Taskin Ahmed, the Bangladeshi cricketer, has been appointed as the vice captain of the national cricket team. However, Taskin will not be participating in the series against the United States."

Meanwhile, Hasan Mahmud has been named as the traveling reserve for the announced squad. He will join the team management during the T20 World Cup. Alongside, Taskin‍‍`s treatment will continue, and if Taskin remains unfit, Hasan will take his place.
