Schools and colleges across Bangladesh are set to resume from Sunday (September 12). As the pandemic is still ongoing, full swing talks are progress on how schools will ensure Covid-19 protocols amid in-person academic activities.
As per Friday’s (September 11) inter-ministerial meeting to ensure safety for students, 10 mandates have been issued.
The secondary and higher education department has issued 11 emergency directives concerning students’ class routine.
The directives are as following:
1. SSC and HSC candidates of the academic year 2021-2022, as well as fifth graders will come to school every day.
2. First, second, third, fourth, sixth, seventh, eighth and nineth graders will come to school once a week.
3. Schools will set routine considering that two classes are held in one classroom per week.
4. Practical classes can be scheduled where applicable with routine.
5. Institutions that combine primary, secondary and higher secondary levels will formulate routines by coordinating the classes scheduled for those levels.
6. The educational institutes affiliated with the National University and Dhaka University will conduct in-person academic activities by formulating routines for the HSC candidates 2021-2022 in accordance with the ongoing degree and equivalent and masters examinations.
7. While formulating routines it must be kept in mind that health protocols are not violated when students enter, stay of exit their institutions.
8. The routine should be prepared in such a way that students of different grades enter the institution at different times and leave the institution, in varied times.
9. Assemblies at educational institutions are to be temporarily suspended.
