Educational institutions will likely reopen after Eid-ul-Fitr, said Education Minister Dipu Moni on Thursday. However, the final decision will be declared tomorrow after a meeting with the National Technical Advisory Committee.
According to an earlier statement of the Education Minister on February 27, schoools were supposed to resume on March 30.
Nevertheless, due to the alarming surge in the rate of COVID-infections the government might reconsider the earlier statement and continue the ongoing hiatus of educational institutions across the country.
The government has directed all teachers and employees of schools and colleges to get vaccinated before resuming classes physically.
Last year, when the world was hit with a deadly pandemic the government announced general holidays and the closure of all academic institutions.
Schools and colleges have remained shut in the country ever since.
