After a long closure of 18 months, all the medical colleges across Bangladesh have reopened Monday (September 13).
Earlier, the country's schools and colleges resumed in-person academic activities on Sunday (September 12).
On September 2, Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque announced the re-opening of all medical colleges at a press conference. During the same time, he said, before this, 100% vaccination of all teachers, students and staff working in colleges will be ensured.
Almost all educational institutions in the country have reopened since Sunday after being closed for roughly 543 days due to the Covid-19 situation.
Covid-19 situation is still not fully under control, however, considering the future of students, in-person academic activities have resumed in the classrooms of primary, secondary and higher secondary level educational institutions from yesterday.
Students of Grade 10 and Grade 12 are required to come to their respective institutions every day for their upcoming SSC and HSC examinations.
On March 17 last year, the government declared general holidays for all schools, colleges and universities to contain the transmission of coronavirus.
