Fashionistas paid their respects during the period of national mourning as London Fashion Week began with tributes to the late monarch, from an open all-black look to models carrying a photo of Queen Elizabeth.
London Fashion Week will be conducted as a "business-to-business event," according to last week's announcement from the organizers, honoring the 96-year-old queen who passed away on September 8 and adhering to royal protocol. The day of the Queen's state funeral, Monday, has been moved, along with holidays and events.
Although some of the most anticipated attractions this season, Burberry and Raf Simons, withdrew from the Sept. 16–20 show, it is trickier for smaller companies to do the same.
