In a chilling turn of events, Dhallywood actor Riaz's father-in-law Md Abu Mohasin Khan has committed suicide by shooting himself in the head live on Facebook in the capital.
The incident, according to media reports, took place in his flat at House No 25 in Dhanmondi-7 on Wednesday, where he claimed to have been living alone.
Dhanmondi police said Mohasin, aged around 60, killed himself around 9:45pm.
The elderly person, minutes before shooting himself using his licensed pistol, was detailing his frustrations since the pandemic.
Claiming to be a 58-year-old businessman, Mohasin while on live said that he had been suffering from cancer. He was saddened by the deaths of two of his maternal aunts.
"I have a son living in Australia. I live comoletely alone at home. I've been so scared since my aunt's death," he said.
"If I die at home, I don't think anybody would know I'm dead even a week later," he feared.
He went on saying that he was living in Bangladesh since before the Covid-19 pandemic.
"Those living alone, can only say how it feels like," he lamented.
Shockingly, the businessman was heard claiming that some people, including a friend, chated him, embezzling money from his ventures.
However, neither was there any immediate reaction from his family members, nor any verification of the claims he made before the self-murder.
