Army Chief urges July warriors not to lose morale

Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman has praised those injured during the July Movement as “the nation’s distinguished children.”

He made these remarks at an Iftar event organized in honor of the July Movement‍‍`s injured fighters on Sunday, July 23, at Sena Malancha in Dhaka Cantonment.

Advising the injured not to lose morale, General Waqar-uz-Zaman stated that the Bangladesh Army will always stand by them.

“Do not lose your morale. We are with you and will always be with you. The nation will never forget your sacrifices,” said the army chief.

He further mentioned that the army is not only providing medical assistance but also working on financial support and rehabilitation for the injured. 

Various businesses and organizations have also come forward to assist them. 

He assured that the army would continue to stand by the injured and intensify rehabilitation efforts in the future.

The Army Chief reaffirmed the Bangladesh Army’s commitment to the rehabilitation and continued support for those injured in the July Movement.

The event was attended by senior army officials, notable civilians, directors of various government hospitals, and students injured during the July Movement. 

During the event, General Waqar-uz-Zaman interacted with the injured and inquired about their well-being.

At the conclusion of the event, Eid gifts were presented to the injured on behalf of the Bangladesh Army.

It is noteworthy that a total of 4,215 people injured in the July Uprising have received medical treatment at various Combined Military Hospitals (CMH) across the country. 

Out of them, 989 have undergone successful surgeries. Currently, 39 individuals are receiving treatment at CMH Dhaka.
