Bangladesh is faring better than India and Pakistan in the World Hunger Index. This information was revealed in the World Hunger Index 2021 published on Thursday (October 14).
Out of the 116 countries in the index, Bangladesh is on the 76th position. On the flip side, Pakistan is on the 92nd position, while India ranks the 101st position.
Among the South Asian countries, Nepal also got the same number of points as Bangladesh, while China tops the list of South Asian countries.
Anually, the Irish volunteer organization Concern Worldwide and the German organization Welt Hunger Hilf jointly determine the amount of hunger among the countries of the world.
Issues such as the contemporary economic situation of any country, child health and inequality in the distribution of resources play a crucial role in this regard.
They determine the 'Global Hunger Index' or GHI score based on a number of factors. Important issues in this case are malnutrition, child malnutrition, and infant mortality rate.
