As many as 33 persons have been charged in connection with the killing of former leaders of ruling party's youth wing Jubo League and student wing Chhatra League, Noman and Rakib respectively in Laxmipur district.
Local Awami League leader Abul Kashem Zihadi was also among the sued. He is the organizing secretary of Chandraganj upazila unit of Awami League.
Mahfuzur Rahman, the local UP chairman and the older brother of one of the deceased, filed the case with Chandraganj Police Station on early Thursday accusing 18 identified people and 14–15 others who have not been marked.
No one has been arrested in this connection but a drive is on to arrest the accused.
On April 25, Abdullah Al Noman, 35, former general secretary of district unit of Jubo League and Rakib Imam, 28, former organising secretary of the district unit of Chhatra League were shot to death allegedly in an attack by their rivals over establishing supremacy in Sadar upazila of Laxmipur.
