PM resumes office after Eid holidays

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has resumed official duties at the Secretariat on the first working day following the Eid holidays.


According to his Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon, the prime minister arrived at his office at 9:01am and began the day by exchanging Eid greetings with officials and staff.


Several senior government figures, including ministers, advisers and secretaries, greeted the prime minister during the morning.


Among them were Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Ariful Haque Chowdhury, State Minister for Civil Aviation Rashiduzzaman Millat, Adviser Mahdi Amin, Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Gani and Principal Secretary ABM Abdus Sattar.


Later in the day, the prime minister held a meeting with Krishna Srinivasan, director of the Asia and Pacific Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), at the Prime Minister’s Office in the Secretariat.


Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Economic Adviser Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir and Finance Secretary Dr Md Khairuzzaman Majumder were also present at the meeting.
