State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir has renounced British citizenship
Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md Asaduzzaman has said State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir has renounced his British citizenship.
He made the remarks on Tuesday at a ceremony in Dhaka where a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed to strengthen inter-agency cooperation on legal aid, social protection, and the protection and rehabilitation of women, children and vulnerable groups.
The MoU was signed among the Department of Legal Aid, the Department of Social Services and the Department of Women Affairs.
The law minister said, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir has renounced his British citizenship. There was no violation of the law in his taking the oath. The government of Bangladesh has acted in accordance with the Constitution.
Asaduzzaman also said family cards are being distributed to households across the country, while the Ministry of Agriculture is issuing agriculture cards.
Similarly, legal aid will be provided by legal aid teams. We want to ensure human rights, he said.
