Professor Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Adviser of Bangladesh’s interim government, will be traveling to Switzerland for his first overseas visit of the new year.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Mohammad Rafiqul Alam, confirmed this on Thursday.
Dr. Yunus will attend the annual World Economic Forum (WEF) conference in Davos, Switzerland, from January 21st to 24th.
The conference is set to take place between January 20th and 24th, and Dr. Yunus will be a part of the important event.
Apart from attending the conference, Dr. Yunus will also meet with several world leaders, heads of organizations, CEOs, and influential business figures during his visit.
After completing his engagements in Davos, Dr. Yunus is expected to return to Dhaka on January 24th.
Since taking office on August 8th of last year, Dr. Yunus has already made a number of international trips.
His first foreign visit was to the United States, where he participated in the United Nations General Assembly.
In November, he attended the COP-29 conference in Azerbaijan. Later, in December, he visited Egypt to participate in the D-8 summit. Each of these visits involved significant participation in multilateral discussions.
