An inter-ministerial meeting has been scheduled this evening to devise the measures to curb Omicron variant of the deadly coronavirus.
Ministers for home and health, cabinet secretary and other concerned officials will join the meeting to be held at cabinet division in the capital on Monday.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal will present the meeting with cabinet secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam in the chair.
Cabinet sources said, the meeting was called to address the Omicron infection.
Deputy Commissioners, superintendents of police, police commissioners, divisional commissioners, health department director, civil surgeons will virtually join the meeting.
The meeting will devise the curbing measures to contain the spread of Omicron variant.
The omicron variant was first reported in South Africa and soon it spread scores of nations.
Various states in India including neighbouring West Bengal imposed night curfew in a bid to stop the spread.
