Former state minister Murad's wife calls 999; seeks police support

Former state minister Dr. Murad Hasan's wife (Dr. Jahanara Ehsan) called the National Emergency Service 999 and asked for the support of the police.

She called on Thursday afternoon and said she is being physically assaulted, and given death threats, The matter was reported to Dhanmondi police from 999. Subsequently, a team of police went to Murad's house.

Dhanmondi Police Station Officer-In-Charge Ikram Ali Mia told the media that police had been sent to the house of former state minister Murad Hasan on Road No. 15 after receiving a call from 999  . 

She accused her husband of torturing her and threatening to kill her. If a written complaint is received in this regard, further legal action will be taken, said police.
