In light of the holy month of Ramadan, the government has announced changes to the office hours for all public sector organizations in the country, including government, semi-government, autonomous, and semi-autonomous institutions.

According to a recent notice issued on Monday by Md. Kamruzzaman, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, these offices will now operate from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM during Ramadan.

This shift in working hours is being made to accommodate the timing for Sehri and Iftar during the month.

The notice further clarified that, for the convenience of employees, there will be a 15-minute break for the Zuhr prayer from 1:15 PM to 1:30 PM.

The weekly holidays will remain unchanged on Fridays and Saturdays, and on all other weekdays, offices will follow the new timings.

For services such as banks, insurance companies, other financial institutions, the postal system, railways, hospitals, state-owned industries, factories, and emergency services, the office hours will be determined by each institution according to their own guidelines and public service requirements.

In the case of the Bangladesh Supreme Court and its subordinate courts, the notification stated that office hours would be decided by the Supreme Court itself.

This move is part of the government‍‍`s effort to ensure a smooth and considerate work environment during Ramadan while maintaining public service delivery.
