On the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, vehicles carrying animals cannot be stopped on the highway without specific complaints or information, said Additional Inspector General of Highway Police Md. Shahabuddin Khan. He also warned that stopping the vehicle without specific information will not be tolerated.
He said these things in a coordination meeting organized to keep the highway safe and free from traffic jams on the occasion of Eid-Ul- Azha 2023 at the conference room of the headquarters of the Armed Police Battalion (APBN) at Uttara in the capital today.
The AIG of Bangladesh Police said, “Any livestock vehicle cannot be stopped on the highway unless there is a specific complaint against it. At this time, he suggested to hang a banner in front of each car where the destination of transport is."
Regarding the allegation that drugs are being transported in animal trucks, he said, "We will have specific monitoring in this regard. We will have vigilance and supervision to ensure that drug dealers do not get any opportunity."
The meeting was attended by DIG Mozammel Haque of Highway Police, officials of Traffic Department of DMP Police and many others.
