PM unveils plaque of Jashore Medical College Hospital

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Monday unveiled the foundation plaque of a 500-bed Jashore Medical College Hospital, highlighting his government’s focus on improving healthcare access.

The ceremony was held at Harinar Beel in the Chachra area of the district town in the afternoon.

Senior leaders and ministers attended the event, including Health Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Husain and Water Resources Minister Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee, along with other state ministers.

The hospital building is being constructed jointly by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Housing and Public Works.

Speaking at the programme, the prime minister said the government aims to ensure fast and accessible healthcare services for people across the country.

He stressed that a healthy population is essential for national progress and urged citizens to support the government’s efforts to strengthen the healthcare system.

Officials said the project is part of broader plans to expand medical facilities and improve service delivery nationwide.
