A fire that broke out at the Kalshi slum in Mirpur area of Dhaka on Monday night was brought under control after several hours of effort by firefighters.
According to the Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence, the fire started around 7:30pm.
Fifteen firefighting units worked at the scene and managed to control the blaze at around 9:35pm.
Fire Service official Anwarul Islam said the cause of the fire, the extent of damage and information about any casualties were not immediately known.
Authorities were continuing efforts to assess the situation.
