The holy Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated in Bangladesh on May 28, as the crescent moon of the holy month of Dhul-Hijjah has been sighted in the country’s sky on Monday.
Earlier in the evening, the National Moon Sighting Committee announced that the crescent marking the start of Dhul-Hijjah had been observed.
Following a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee held at the Islamic Foundation office at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad confirmed that the Dhul-Hijjah moon had been sighted, leading to the decision that Eid-ul-Adha will be observed nationwide on May 28.
