RAB claims to find clues, info about Dhaka shooting

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) claimed to have found several clues and information about the murder of former Awami League General Secretary Jahidul Islam aka Tipu in the capital's Shahjahanpur.

RAB Director Commander Khandaker Al Moin told this to the media during a press conference at its Media Center at Karwan Bazar in the capital on Friday.

The killer would be brought under the law soon, the RAB director said.

Former general secretary of Motijheel police station Awami League Zahidul Islam alias Tipu was shot dead at the area of ​​Amtala Mosque in capital's Shahjahanpur around 10:15 pm on Thursday night.

College student Samia Afrin alias Preeti (22) was shot dead while getting stuck in a traffic jam on the road. The driver of the microbus carrying Zahidul was also shot in the same incident.

Zahidul's wife Farhana Islam is a councilor of the reserved women's ward of Dhaka South City Corporation (Motijheel area).

According to the police, Zahidul Islam is the accused in the murder case of Juba League leader Reazul Haque Milky. He was arrested in this case and was in jail for many days. He was later released on bail.

On July 29, 2013, Milky, the then organizing secretary of Juba League Dhaka Metropolitan South, was shot dead in front of a shopping mall called Shoppers World in Gulshan.
