A bogie of the Padma Express, traveling from Rajshahi to Dhaka, derailed in Salna, Gazipur, halting train services between Dhaka and northern Bangladesh.
The derailment occurred around 8:45 pm on Friday, as confirmed by Hanif Ali, the station master at Joydebpur Railway Junction.
The last bogies of the Padma Express came off the tracks on the Dhaka-Rajshahi route.
The train proceeded towards Dhaka after separating the derailed bogies on-site, but the disruption has caused a suspension of train services between Dhaka and the northern regions.
