The decapitated body of a sex worker was recovered by police from the Daulatdia brothel in Rajbari’s Goalanda upazila.
Police recovered the body of Saturday (October 9) morning.
The deceased has been identified as Ritu Akhter, 30. Originally hailing from Gazipur’s Sreepur upazila, she was a tenant of one Sujan Khandaker at the brothel, confirmed Goalanda Ghat police station OC Abdullah Al Taybi.
Upon noticing blood flowing out from Ritu’s rented house door on Saturday morning, locals broke into her house.
There, they discovered her decapitated body lying in a pool of blood on the floor.
Later, police arrived at the scene and sent the body to Rajbari Sadar Hospital for an autopsy.
According to Ritu’s daughter, their landlord Sujan Khandaker had visited her mother Friday night.
