Singer Mainul Ahsan Noble has been sent to jail by a Dhaka court in connection with an abduction and rape case.
The police from Demra Police Station had appealed to the court for his detention.
On Tuesday afternoon, May 20, Noble was produced before the court, which then ordered that he be sent to jail.
Earlier, in the early hours of Monday night, around 2:00 AM, Noble was arrested during a raid at the Demra Staff Quarters.
According to Demra Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge, Mahmudur Rahman, a woman was rescued from Noble’s residence in Amtala, Sarulia, Demra, following a call to the national emergency helpline 999.
The woman later filed a case that same night. Based on her complaint, police conducted an operation and arrested Noble from the area.
Noble gained widespread popularity after participating in the Indian television music competition ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ on Zee Bangla.
However, he has since become embroiled in several controversies and was previously detained over other allegations.
