A video has gone viral on social media showing a disturbing incident where a man is seen hanging from the door of a moving train, pleading for help as someone inside the train holds onto his hand. Moments later, the grip is released, and the man falls onto the railway tracks.
The incident took place around 1 PM on Sunday near the Nasratpur Railway Station in Adamdighi upazila of Bogura. The victim has been identified as Motiur Rahman, 52, a resident of Paroil village in Raninagar upazila of Naogaon. He is currently undergoing treatment at a clinic in Bogura with serious injuries.
According to family sources, Motiur Rahman works as a manpower agent. Around two years ago, he helped a young man named Sajib travel to Saudi Arabia. However, due to complications with his paperwork, Sajib was unable to obtain an Iqama (work permit), leading to ongoing disputes between Motiur and Sajib’s family.
Allegedly acting on Sajib’s instructions, a group of youths attempted to kill Motiur by throwing him from the train. Sajib is from Talson village in Adamdighi upazila.
Motiur’s son, Ahsan Habib, stated, “My father was traveling to Santahar on the Dolonchapa Express from Bogura. Just before reaching Nasratpur station, 10 to 12 young men inside his coach began attacking him and eventually pushed him off the moving train. Luckily, the train wheels did not run over him, but he sustained serious injuries, including a broken leg.”
Motiur was first admitted to the Adamdighi Upazila Health Complex for initial treatment and later moved to a clinic in Bogura. Ahsan claimed that no police station has accepted their case. When they approached Adamdighi Police Station, they were referred to the Santahar GRP (Government Railway Police). However, even there, no case was recorded.
Regarding the accusation of pushing Motiur off the train due to past disputes, Sajib’s uncle, Jahangir Alam, said over the phone, “Sajib went to Saudi Arabia through Motiur, but Motiur deceived him. The company Sajib was sent to has not provided an Iqama, though Motiur had promised it. We have ongoing issues with him, but we had no involvement in the train incident.”
When contacted, Inspector Habibur Rahman of the Santahar Railway GRP Police Station confirmed they had seen the viral video but stated no formal complaint had been lodged. He assured that an investigation would be conducted if a complaint is submitted.
