Former Narayanganj City Mayor Dr. Selina Hayat Ivy has been placed on a two-day police remand in connection with the murder of Minarul, a member of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
The decision was issued on Sunday, May 25, by Senior Judicial Magistrate Nur Mohsin in Narayanganj.
Ivy appeared virtually in court from Kashimpur Prison during the hearing.
Earlier, on May 21, police had requested a seven-day remand for her interrogation. After a hearing, the court granted two days of remand.
Inspector Md. Kaiyum Khan of the Narayanganj Court Police confirmed the court’s decision.
Ivy was arrested in the early hours of May 5 in connection with the murder case and was later sent to jail following a court order.
