During the three-day-long holiday, people from different strata of the society thronged various tourists spots specially in Cox’s Bazar and Kuakata sea beaches.
Cox's Bazar, Kuakata, Sundarbans, Srimangal and all other tourist spots are now abuzz with hundreds of thousands of tourists.
On the first day of the 3-day holiday, Cox's Bazar beach has attracted about 3 lakh tourists. The same is true of Kuakata, another beach in the country. The rent of hotels, motels and cottages has been increased several times. There are no vacancies in about 500 hotels, motels and cottages across Cox's Bazar.

“There is heavy rush since we came here. We got no vacancy in any hotel motel. Finally, after a hectic effort of 3-4 hours we rented a room at taka 8000 which costs 2000 usually,” Mahbub, a member of the team, told TheReport.live.
Mahabub further said, “Extra money has to be counted not only for living but also for food. You have to pay around taka 200 for a plate of pulses and rice.”
Nafis Saif went to Cox's Bazar with his family from Chattagram. He said, “We all know that the expenses go high during the season. But, this time it surpasses all previous records.”
He added: "We had to abandon many plans because of the sudden increase in rents. The three-day tour has now been reduced to two days. ”
Several tourists visiting Kuakata have also expressed dissatisfaction over the issue. A tourist who was visiting there told TheReport.live, "The rent of the rooms which are Tk 2,000 here is being kept at Tk 7/8 thousand."
