Bangladesh received more than $2.52 billion in remittances during the first 27 days of July, marking a strong start to the 2026-27 fiscal year and extending the country`s robust growth in inward remittance flows.
According to the latest Bangladesh Bank data, expatriate Bangladeshis sent home $2,524 million between July 1 and July 27, up 20.2% from the $2.10 billion received during the same period of the previous fiscal year.
The central bank said remittances reached $87 million on July 27 alone, reflecting the continued flow of funds through formal banking channels.
The sustained growth in remittance earnings is expected to strengthen Bangladesh`s foreign exchange reserves and support overall macroeconomic stability.
The latest performance follows a record year for remittance inflows. Bangladesh received $35.56 billion in remittances in FY2025-26, the highest amount ever recorded in a single fiscal year.
The FY26 total represented a 17.3% increase from the $30.33 billion received in FY2024-25, according to Bangladesh Bank data.
