Fire Service and Civil Defence brought the fire at Dhaka Shishu Hospital under control around 2.40pm on Friday.
Confirming the matter to BSS, Talha Bin Jasim, officer (media) of Fire Service and Civil Defence, said the fire was brought under control around 2.40pm after an-hour of efforts.
The fire broke out at the Cardiac ICU Unit of the hospital around 1.47 pm. On information, five fire engines from Mohammadpur, Siddiqbazar and Tejgaon Fire Stations rushed to the area and brought the fire under control.
The extent of damage and source of the fire could not be known immediately.
