Gold prices in Bangladesh have been reduced significantly, with the rate of 22-carat gold falling by Tk 6,590 per bhori, according to the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS).
Under the revised pricing, 22-carat gold is now selling at Tk 234,855 per bhori, effective from 10am on Friday.
BAJUS said the adjustment reflects a decline in the price of pure gold in the local market.
Following the latest revision, 21-carat gold is priced at Tk 224,182 per bhori, while 18-carat gold stands at Tk 192,164. Traditional gold is now being sold at Tk 156,473 per bhori.
The latest reduction comes just days after a previous cut on March 25, when the price of 22-carat gold was lowered to Tk 241,445 per bhori.
So far this year, gold prices have been adjusted 47 times, including 26 increases and 21 decreases.
Despite the drop in gold prices, silver rates remain unchanged, with 22-carat silver currently priced at Tk 5,365 per bhori.
