The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has decided to reduce gold prices in the local market. The price of 22-carat gold has been cut by Tk 7,640 per bhori, setting the new price at Tk 254,450 per bhori.
BAJUS announced the decision in a press release issued on Friday morning. The revised prices came into effect from 10:00am today.
According to BAJUS, the price adjustment was made after considering the overall market situation, particularly the decline in the price of pure gold (tejabi gold) in the local market.
Under the new rates, the price of 22-carat gold has been fixed at Tk 254,450 per bhori (11.664 grams). The price of 21-carat gold has been set at Tk 242,903 per bhori, 18-carat gold at Tk 208,202 per bhori, and gold made under the traditional method at Tk 170,411 per bhori.
Previously, BAJUS had revised gold prices on February 3, increasing the price by Tk 10,906 per bhori. At that time, the price of 22-carat gold was set at Tk 262,090 per bhori, effective from 4:00pm that day. The prices of 21-carat, 18-carat, and traditional gold were Tk 250,193, Tk 214,443, and Tk 175,485 per bhori respectively.
With this latest revision, gold prices have been adjusted 25 times so far this year—16 times increased and 9 times reduced. In 2025, gold prices were revised a total of 93 times, with 64 increases and 29 decreases.
Alongside gold, BAJUS has also reduced silver prices. The price of 22-carat silver has been lowered by Tk 175 per bhori to Tk 6,357. The prices of 21-carat, 18-carat, and traditional silver have been fixed at Tk 6,065, Tk 5,190, and Tk 3,907 per bhori respectively.
Silver prices have been revised 17 times so far this year, including 10 increases and 7 decreases. In 2025, silver prices were adjusted 13 times, with 10 increases and 3 decreases.
