The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has raised gold prices in the local market after four consecutive rounds of reductions, citing an increase in the price of pure gold in the domestic market.
According to a statement issued by BAJUS on Saturday morning, the price of 22-carat gold has been increased by Tk 6,590 per bhori (11.664 grams) to Tk 224,940 per bhori. The new rates came into effect from 10:00 am on Saturday.
BAJUS said the latest adjustment was made after reviewing overall market conditions and the rise in the price of pure gold (acid gold).
Under the revised price list:
22-carat gold: Tk 224,940 per bhori
21-carat gold: Tk 214,734 per bhori
18-carat gold: Tk 184,058 per bhori
Traditional-method gold: Tk 149,882 per bhori
The association last adjusted gold prices on June 11, when it reduced the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 4,432 per bhori to Tk 218,350 per bhori.
At that time, the prices were:
21-carat gold: Tk 208,436 per bhori
18-carat gold: Tk 178,692 per bhori
Traditional-method gold: Tk 145,508 per bhori
Those rates also took effect from 10:00 am on June 11.
So far this year, gold prices in Bangladesh have been revised 74 times, including 38 increases and 36 decreases. In 2025, gold prices were adjusted 93 times, with 64 upward revisions and 29 downward revisions.
Silver Prices Also Increased
BAJUS has also increased silver prices.
Under the new rates, the price of 22-carat silver has risen by Tk 291 per bhori to Tk 5,132 per bhori.
The revised silver prices are:
22-carat silver: Tk 5,132 per bhori
21-carat silver: Tk 4,899 per bhori
18-carat silver: Tk 4,199 per bhori
Traditional-method silver: Tk 3,149 per bhori
This year, silver prices have been revised 45 times, with 23 increases and 22 decreases. In 2025, silver prices were adjusted 13 times, including 10 increases and three decreases.
