The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has once again increased gold prices in the local market, raising the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 7,640 per bhori. The new price has been set at Tk 262,090 per bhori.
BAJUS announced the revised rates in a notice issued on Saturday. The new prices came into effect from 10:00 am today.
According to the announcement, the decision was taken after considering the overall market situation, particularly the increase in the price of tejabi (pure) gold in the local market.
Under the new pricing structure, the price of 22-carat gold is Tk 262,090 per bhori (11.664 grams). The price of 21-carat gold has been fixed at Tk 250,193 per bhori, 18-carat gold at Tk 214,443 per bhori, and traditional method gold at Tk 175,485 per bhori.
Previously, on February 4, BAJUS had reduced gold prices by the same amount—Tk 7,640 per bhori—setting the price of 22-carat gold at Tk 254,450 per bhori. At that time, 21-carat gold was priced at Tk 242,903 per bhori, 18-carat gold at Tk 208,202 per bhori, and traditional gold at Tk 170,411 per bhori. Those prices had also come into effect from 10:00 am.
So far this year, gold prices in the domestic market have been adjusted 26 times—raised on 17 occasions and reduced 9 times. In 2025, prices were revised a total of 93 times, with 64 increases and 29 decreases.
Meanwhile, silver prices remain unchanged despite the increase in gold prices. Currently, 22-carat silver is being sold at Tk 6,357 per bhori. The price of 21-carat silver stands at Tk 6,065 per bhori, 18-carat silver at Tk 5,190 per bhori, and traditional silver at Tk 3,907 per bhori.
This year, silver prices have been adjusted 17 times so far—rising 10 times and falling 7 times. In 2025, silver prices were revised 13 times, with increases on 10 occasions and decreases on 3 occasions.
