The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has reduced gold prices in the domestic market again within a day.
In a new notification issued on Thursday morning, the association announced a reduction of Tk 2,216 per bhori, setting the price of 22-carat gold at Tk 223,216 per bhori, including VAT. The new prices came into effect at 10 a.m. the same day.
According to the revised rates, 21-carat gold is priced at Tk 213,042 per bhori, 18-carat gold at Tk 182,950 per bhori, and traditional gold at Tk 149,474 per bhori (11.664 grams), including VAT.
BAJUS said the adjustment was made considering the overall market situation after a fall in the price of acid gold (pure gold) in the local market.
Earlier, on Wednesday (June 24), gold prices were also revised downward, with the price of 22-carat gold reduced by Tk 5,481 per bhori to Tk 225,290.
With the latest adjustment, gold prices in the country have been revised 81 times so far this year. Of these, prices have been increased 40 times, decreased 40 times, and VAT adjusted once.
