Mohammad Rafayet Ullah Mirdha of The Daily Star and Abul Kashem of The Business Standard have been elected as the new president and general secretary of the Economic Reporters' Forum (ERF).
Salahuddin Bablu was elected as the vice president of ERF, a platform of journalists who cover economic issues in the country, according to the result announced by ERF Election Commission, reports UNB.
The election for 2023-24 session of the organization was held on Friday (December 23, 2022).
Other elected office bearers are Md. Mizanur Rahman as assistant general secretary, Rahim Sheikh as finance secretary, and Mohammad Farhad Hossain Talukder, Badiul Alam, Mohammed Syful Islam, and Shah Alam Nur as executive members.
Out of the 229 voters, some 200 voters exercised their voting rights. The newly elected president Rafayet Mirda got 91 votes while his close competitor Sajjadur Rahman earned 51 votes.
