On August 22, 2025, the Rabindra Sarobar Amphitheater in Dhaka hosted a grand gala concert organized by the Russian House in Dhaka to mark the National Flag Day of the Russian Federation.

The event showcased a vibrant blend of Russian and Bangladeshi cultural traditions, symbolizing the growing friendship and mutual understanding between the two nations.

The official segment of the program featured speeches by a representative of the Dhaka City Corporation and the Minister-Counselor of the Russian Embassy in Bangladesh.

Both speakers highlighted the importance of national symbols, with special emphasis on the Russian tricolor as a representation of national identity and sovereignty.

The cultural program included performances by prominent Bangladeshi musical groups. The student ensemble Akash’Co performed Russian compositions, while the popular rock band Sonar Bangla Circus presented both Russian pieces and original songs in Bengali.

A major highlight of the evening was the solemn procession of a 31-meter Russian flag through the audience, which drew a particularly emotional response. Guests also had opportunities to take photographs with Russian state symbols and receive commemorative souvenirs.

Ms. Ekaterina Semenova, Minister-Counselor of the Russian Embassy in Bangladesh, said, “This concert was not only a celebration of the Russian national flag but also a bridge for cultural interaction between our countries. We are grateful to our Bangladeshi friends for their warm reception and shared celebration.”

The event was attended by members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of Bangladeshi government agencies, students, and around 8,000 local residents. Attendees praised the organization of the event and its role in strengthening Russian-Bangladeshi relations, while the enthusiastic participation of the Bangladeshi public reflected a genuine interest in Russian culture and reinforced bilateral ties.
