Kathmandu authorities report that the death toll from ongoing Gen Z protests against corruption and the government’s social media restrictions has risen to 16, local media reports citing hospital officials on Monday
Of the deceased, six were admitted to the Trauma Center, three to Civil Hospital, three to Everest Hospital, one to Kathmandu Medical College (KMC), and one to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital.
The exact number of injured remains unclear due to the high volume of cases. Hospitals, including Civil Hospital and the Trauma Center, are reportedly struggling to manage the influx of patients and have started referring some cases to other medical facilities.
Officials also stated that the identities of the deceased and many of the injured have not yet been confirmed.
