Bangladeshi youth found dead in Kolkata

The body of a 23-year-old Bangladeshi youth has been recovered from a reservoir in the Science City area of ​​West Bengal‍‍`s Kolkata metropolis in India. 

According to Kolkata Police sources, the name of the deceased is Daud Hossain Upal. He is a resident of Dhaka, who came to Kolkata a few days ago. 

The Anandabazar Patrika newspaper reported that the body was lying in a pond near Varun Sengupta Metro Station in Pragati Maidan police station area.

According to the report, the police identified him as a Bangladeshi after the rescue. Investigations on how he got there and died aere underway.

He went to a hotel in New Market police station area. It is not yet clear why he went to Science City from there. It is not known why the youth came to Kolkata from Bangladesh.

Initially, the police assumed that the youth had committed suicide because he was seen jumping into that reservoir. The police said that the youth suddenly jumped into the reservoir before 9 am on Wednesday. Locals saw the scene and informed the police.

With the help of locals, the police rescued the youth from the water body and he was taken to the NRS Hospital. Doctors declared him dead. No suicide note was found from him. The police are looking into all aspects. No other possibility can be ruled out.

The youth‍‍`s body has been sent for post-mortem. The police got to know the identity of the young man from the documents obtained from him. Attempts are being made to contact his family in Bangladesh. A case of unusual death has been registered and investigation has been started in this incident.
