Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has made a passionate appeal to the Muslim Ummah, calling for unity to halt the violence and atrocities occurring in Gaza and Yemen.
His strong condemnation of Israel’s renewed aggression in Gaza comes amidst growing global concern over the rising casualties in the region.
In a speech marking the start of the Persian New Year 1404, Khamenei labeled the ongoing Israeli attacks in Gaza as a “grave crime” and a “disaster” for the region.
The official Iranian news agency, IRNA, reported his remarks, which were later shared by AFP.
“This issue is related to the entire Muslim Ummah,” Khamenei stated, urging Muslims worldwide to set aside their differences and unite against these crimes.
He also called on freedom-loving people from all over the world, particularly in Europe and America, to stand against the actions of Israel to prevent further bloodshed, destruction of homes, and the displacement of Palestinian people.
Khamenei did not shy away from blaming the U.S. government for its role in the ongoing violence, stating that the U.S. is “partially responsible” for the catastrophe.
According to political analysts, he claimed that Israel either acted on U.S. orders or had their approval to carry out the attacks.
Khamenei also highlighted the humanitarian crisis in Yemen, describing the attacks on civilians there as “another crime” that must be stopped.
Amidst his condemnation of the violence, Khamenei also addressed the challenges faced by Iran in the past year.
He noted the loss of several key figures, including the martyrdom of Iranian military advisors in Damascus and the tragic death of President Ebrahim Raisi, describing these as painful events that have deeply affected the nation.
Despite these challenges, Khamenei praised the resilience of the Iranian people.
He said their unity and spiritual strength have helped the nation remain steadfast, pointing to the massive turnout for President Raisi’s funeral as a testament to the nation`s high morale.
He emphasized that even the gravest crises could not break the spirit of the Iranian people.
The Supreme Leader also commended the quick organization of the presidential election following Raisi’s death, saying that the rapid formation of a new government showed the Iranian people`s strong spiritual resolve and ability to overcome leadership gaps.
In addition, Khamenei praised the overwhelming support provided by the Iranian people to their Lebanese and Palestinian brothers during times of crisis.
He mentioned how Iranians, particularly women, even gave their gold jewelry as donations to support the resistance movement, calling it an unforgettable moment in Iranian history.
Looking ahead, Khamenei declared the new Persian year as the "Year of Capital Investment for Production," urging the nation to focus on boosting production and investment despite the hardships it has faced.
Khamenei concluded his remarks by saying that the strength, willpower, and preparedness of the Iranian people would continue to be the country`s greatest assets, ensuring that God`s blessings remain with the nation.
By highlighting the resilience and unity of Iran, along with his call for global solidarity against the violence in Gaza and Yemen, Khamenei’s speech underscores the ongoing complexities and challenges in the region.
